I am Thessa Engels, a passionate photographer from Lelystad specializing in maternity photography. What started with a love for photographing horses evolved into documenting the most precious moments of life — and maternity photography has a special place in my work. My aim is simple: to capture your pregnancy in a warm, calm and honest way so the images later bring back the emotion and anticipation you felt at the time. My approach is personal and relaxed. Before the shoot we discuss calmly what you want: location (indoors or outdoors), which clothing suits your style and what atmosphere you have in mind. During the session I create a relaxed setting where you can be yourselves — this is when the most natural and spontaneous images appear. I like to work with light and simple compositions to emphasize the soft shapes and connection around your belly, without unnecessary fuss. As a maternity photography specialist I pay close attention to detail: subtle touches, a smile, light filtering through fabric — it’s those small moments that make a series of photos truly special. My style is timeless and warm; the images are ready to hang on your wall or to be preserved later in a handmade album. During the shoot I take the time to put you at ease; I offer gentle posing guidance and leave room for play, touch and spontaneous moments. After the session I select the best images and you will receive an order page where you can easily choose your favourites. Final photos are delivered in high resolution so you can print or share them.
