Hi, I’m Marije — the face behind Marije de Boer Photography. My heart is in maternity photography: capturing that special time when new life is growing. As a maternity specialist based in Heerenveen, I photograph your pregnancy with care and gentleness, exactly as you are. My approach is relaxed and personal. I shoot on location so you can be comfortable in a familiar place — together with your partner and any children, or simply on your own. I often recommend scheduling a maternity shoot around 30–34 weeks, when the bump is beautifully round and you still feel comfortable. During the session I create space and calm; I work in a natural, lifestyle-inspired way so the images feel warm and spontaneous rather than posed. What drives me is the story behind each image. After 15 years in education, I decisively chose photography, inspired by the desire to make loving, lasting memories. People describe me as spontaneous, cheerful and creative — qualities I use to put you at ease and bring out genuine emotion. No forced poses, but moments: a hand on the bump, a look, a smile. I take the time to explore what suits you: an intimate, romantic session, a playful family shoot, or a soft, atmospheric series with mum-to-be alone. During the shoot I maintain a warm, relaxed atmosphere and give clear guidance so even those who are not used to being photographed feel confident.
