I am Boukje Namminga — birth mother, traveller and photographer based in Leeuwarden — and maternity photography is one of my greatest passions. As a specialist in maternity photography, I focus on capturing those quiet, powerful moments when your sense of motherhood is growing. My style uses soft tones, gentle lighting and a documentary-like approach so your maternity photos become intimate, timeless and worthy of the wall. Why choose me? My background in lifestyle and food photography trained my eye for small details and composition, and being the mother of two boys gives me a practical understanding of what a maternity session needs: calm, the ability to nurse if needed and respect for your pace. How I work: we begin with a personal consultation to discuss your wishes and styling. On the day of the shoot I choose a location with you — indoors or outdoors — that suits your story. During the session I work in a chaotically spontaneous but purposeful way: I create space for natural interaction, capture loving glances and subtle touches, and also gently guide compositions that will look beautiful on your walls. You’ll receive guidance while posing and I’ll help with clothing and styling tips so everything comes together. What you’ll receive are images that show the essence of this period: the strength of an expectant mother, the anticipation and that soft connection with your partner or baby. My work is personal and involved; I don’t deliver forced poses but honest images you’ll return to with warmth.
