I’m Denise de Haan, based in Sneek, and maternity photography is one of my greatest passions. As a specialist in maternity photography, I focus on capturing your unique story in a pure and relaxed way. My style is soft and natural, aimed at real moments: no stiff poses, but room for connection, touch and that intimate feeling so characteristic of this period. Why choose a maternity shoot with me? Because I combine dedication and attention with a calm, personal approach. Since 2019 I’ve been photographing expectant couples and families with great pleasure and have continued to develop my craft through both online and offline courses. That experience helps me work with light, composition and small directions to create images that feel timeless and recognizable. My perfectionism is visible in the post-processing: I carefully edit each photo so you receive a consistent, warm look. How I work: we plan the shoot together — outdoors in nature at a location meaningful to you during the golden hour, or at home where the atmosphere feels most familiar. I prefer to work with natural light; it produces the soft tones and intimate mood my work is known for. During the session I keep things relaxed and playful, with minimal posing and plenty of room for spontaneous moments: gentle touches, looks, and small details like hands on the belly or a loving embrace. Preparation and the overall experience are important to me. I’m happy to help with wardrobe advice and to offer access to the client closet so outfits match the desired atmosphere. During the session I create a safe, comfortable and joyful environment where you can be yourselves — and that is where the pure, emotional images come from.
