I am Gerrit Amelink, a maternity photographer based in Deventer. Pregnancy is a special time and my mission is to capture the emotion and connection in images that will truly move you later. As a specialist in maternity photography I work with a calm, personal approach: I take the time, make you feel at ease and advise on locations, clothing and props so you end up with photos you’ll love. My style is natural and versatile. Whether you choose intimate studio portraits in my home studio or a reportage outdoors at one of my favourite Deventer locations (such as the Hertenkamp or along the IJssel), I ensure variety in light, composition and mood. Many couples appreciate that partners and children are welcome — I involve the whole family to create loving, recognisable images. During the session I keep things light and relaxed: small directions, plenty of interaction and sometimes a joke to bring out genuine expressions. My experience with baby, newborn and family sessions helps me notice and capture the smallest moments. After the shoot I pay close attention to post-processing; Photoshop and Lightroom are tools I use to enhance the atmosphere and deliver a distinctive final result. You will receive the images in high resolution and, if desired, both in colour and black-and-white. Clients value not only the images but the whole experience: from first contact to the moment the pictures are ready. I work personally with each client, offer tips beforehand (clothing, props, location choices) and make sure the day runs smoothly.
