I am Marije Jellema and maternity photography is one of my true passions. Based in IJsselmuiden, near Kampen and Zwolle, I capture with attention and calm the special weeks as you look forward to your baby. My approach is personal and warm: I seek out the most beautiful light—often the magical golden hour—and combine natural surroundings or a quiet studio setting with the real, intimate connection between you. Why choose a maternity shoot with me? Because I work with both eye and heart for people. I don’t create forced poses; instead I guide you gently with clear directions so you can relax and enjoy the moment. That results in images that feel sincere and timeless: moments of anticipation, love and connection you will happily revisit in years to come. How I work: we start with a short contact moment to discuss your wishes and ideas—location, clothing and overall mood. You can choose a calm reportage in my spacious daylight studio in the old EEKA Factory in IJsselmuiden, or we can head outdoors: woodland, heath or water, depending on what suits you. I’m happy to advise on clothing and styling; a small collection of dresses (client closet) is available to create those extra-soft, atmospheric images. During the shoot I keep things relaxed and cosy. I offer gentle directions and create moments of interaction so natural behaviour—touches, looks, tiny smiles—takes centre stage. In post-processing I edit the photos with respect for the atmosphere: I generally use realistic colours with a bit more contrast and depth, and where the feeling calls for it I apply black-and-white to let the emotion speak even more strongly. Location-focused, personal and professional: I mainly work in and around Kampen and IJsselmuiden but I’m happy to travel further if you wish.
