Hi, I’m Sarah from Suiker & Anijs — specialised in maternity photography based in Dordrecht. My passion is capturing that special period when you, together (or with more family members), are awaiting a new little person. My maternity sessions focus on calm, authenticity and light: photos that bring you back to that feeling of anticipation. Why choose Suiker & Anijs? My style is light and pure; I mainly work with natural daylight and look for the soft, warm light in every location that makes maternity images timeless and serene. No complicated poses or heavy direction — I prefer to give subtle guidance so you feel natural and relaxed. This way spontaneous, loving images emerge of your bump, the interaction with your partner and any older siblings. How I work: we start with a relaxed introductory chat to discuss what you like — intimate at home or at a favourite outdoor location such as the heath or the beach. I’m happy to advise on clothing and mood: calm, neutral tones often work beautifully for the light, pure look. During the shoot I keep things informal; I let you move, hold each other and enjoy the moment, and I capture the most beautiful maternity images from that. A practical tip: many expectant parents choose to schedule between 30–32 weeks, so the bump is nicely round while you can still move comfortably. Of course I adapt to your pace and wishes — I want the session to feel enjoyable and relaxed. Besides maternity photography, I also create newborn and family images at Suiker & Anijs, which offers lovely possibilities to capture multiple moments.
