I’m Lotte Aerssens, a documentary photographer based in Gouda, and maternity photography is one of my greatest passions. For me, a pregnancy shoot isn’t about perfect poses or polished images, but about honest photographs of how you are right now: hands on the belly, moments of togetherness, and the small gestures that will tell a story later on. As a specialist in maternity photography I work with calm and a focus on connection. My style is warm, sincere and timeless — I look for moments that feel like you, not a staged performance. During a shoot I give subtle guidance and create a relaxed atmosphere so you can keep moving in your own rhythm. No fuss, no posing: just being together while I capture the little, meaningful details. I understand that a pregnancy shoot can feel a little nerve-wracking. That’s why getting to know each other first is important to me: we can have a quick call to discuss what feels good to you, which locations are meaningful and what mood you’re after. My process is practical and warm: after the session you’ll receive a preview within a few days; I then carefully edit the rest of the images to keep them soft, timeless and honest.
