I’m Petra from Past & Present Photography — a specialist in maternity photography based in Nieuwegein. For me a pregnancy session is about more than a pretty picture: it’s about preserving a special feeling of pride, anticipation and connection. My style is timeless, warm and relaxed; I work primarily with natural light in my daylight studio or we can choose an outdoor location together, often at golden hour. Before the session you’ll receive practical clothing tips so you feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera. Prefer a lifestyle reportage at home or a milk-bath / milk-bath-style shoot? That’s possible too — I’m happy to collaborate on a personal concept such as a gender reveal or an intimate partner and family session. How I work: we start with a no-obligation conversation so I understand your expectations. During the shoot I create a relaxed atmosphere; I guide you with simple poses, use playful techniques and leave space for natural moments. My aim is for you to feel like yourselves so the maternity photos become genuine, warm memories. After the session I carefully select and edit the best images with attention to soft tones and timeless retouching, so your photos will still evoke that same warm feeling years from now. As a former pedagogical worker and a mother, I know how precious this period is. I use that experience to provide calm and reassurance during the session — perfect if you feel nervous or don’t often have your photo taken. My studio in Vreeswijk (Nieuwegein) is bright, cozy and conveniently located; parking and access are easy.
